I tried a new all-natural pill to reduce PMS and Period Symptoms for 6 days – here’s what happened…
PERIODS. While, I’m grateful to have a period that’s consistent every month, I think most of us can agree that the symptoms that come with it (cramps, aches, PMS, the works) are one of the less fun things about being a woman.
For some reason, most women have become accustomed to and accepting of the fact that they won’t feel their best for week-long period (or longer…) of the month. Kind of crazy, considering that is one quarter of our lives! This had me wondering: with all the evolving science and technology, why has women’s premenstrual medication taken a back seat? Midol & Advil? Pretty sure these were the drugs of choice when my mom was a teenager. It’s about time that us ladies are given a natural option to help ease our PMS symptoms!
Enter: Maxine Morgan. Upon hearing of the company I immediately went to check them out on Instagram. They looked, well … MILLENNIAL. Chic & savvy. Halle-freaking-lujah, something on the market for the modern woman. The best part? The formula is comprised of ALL natural ingredients… actually natural. I loved seeing that it was founded by a female entrepreneur (Ariel Morgan) and her father, Dr. Allen Morgan (a double board certified OB/GYN, Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist).
What first caught my eye was the packaging and marketing. While you can’t judge a book by its cover, it honestly attracted me to try it. It clearly pinpointed PMS symptoms and how it’s here to help women stop dreading their time of the month. So naturally I HAD to test it out.
There are two different formulas (which are fully OB/GYN Formulated):
- Flow Formula: The pink bottle. It contains 30mg of CBD, as well as a proprietary blend (ginger root, turmeric, cramp bark, valerian root + fennel seed powder) + vegetable cellulose, organic rice bran extract (aka Nu-Flow) & organic rice concentrate (Nu-Mag).
- Flow Lite: Blue bottle. Contains 15mg of CBD, and then the other same ingredients as the flow formula.
Maxine Morgan is driven by science and data, so stay tuned to hear the results of our clinical studies with major institutions!
I was super impressed by this variety, and love that these supplements are made of natural, vegan, and non-GMO ingredients. As you guys know, I’ve been a big fan of CBD for some time, but never thought specifically incorporating it around my period. All of the above had me feeling instantly taken care of.
After reading all about the product, I wanted to truly put it to the test. I was going to be getting my period in 5 days, meaning I had to place the order ASAP so I didn’t have to wait another 5 weeks to see what it was all about.
The onset of my cramps came the day my shipment arrived. Fate? I think yes. I wanted to go all in, so I decided to take the “FLOW.” Instructions directed me to take one a day, easy enough.
I was going out that night, so I wanted to feel GOOD. I popped one in with lunch and actually forgot I had even taken it … it made me have a symptom-free, normal day! I only remembered when it was the next day (time for my next dose) and I felt the period symptoms hitting me, as well as my actual period. It really, truly worked.
As the week continued, I was living my life as I do every week: pretty much unbothered. As the third day of my period approached, I switched to the LITE formula and continued with that for the following 3. I was amazed … this product truly had me living my best life for an entire week that would normally have been full of symptoms.
Needless to say, I will absolutely be using this product again. And another bonus: a percentage of proceeds go to PERIOD – a non-profit that’s fighting to end period poverty and stigma through service, education and advocacy.
If you want to try out Maxine Morgan, use code: “sweatsandthecity10” for $10.00 off any of products: Flow Lite, Flow Formula, the topical rub, and the tincture. They also offer additional self-care products, so check it out here – would love to hear your thoughts!
