We always feel amazing after a good sweat. There’s something about a heart-pounding, sweaty workout that really motivates us to take on the rest of the day. However, we can’t deny that on some occasions we want a good burn, but not necessarily to end up in a pool of sweat. Perhaps it’s not a hair washing day, or maybe you want to fit in a quick workout before you have to hop on that Zoom call … If that’s the case, we got you. Here are some tips that will allow you to stay cool, while getting the most out of your workout.
WATER IS YOUR BFF.
Drinking cold water keeps your body cool, and when you’re cool – you sweat less. Sweat is meant to cool down your body when you overheat, so the more water the better. And also, as we all know, it’s super important to replenish any lost fluids!
WORK OUT IN THE A.M.
It’s normal to be a little chilly when you wake up in the morning. It usually takes longer to warm up in the A.M. than later in the day. Throughout the day we move quite a bit – so when we start our PM workouts (or even late morning) we’re already starting them at a higher body temp.
AC.
This is a no-brainer, but when we start our workouts at a comfortable temperature, it quickly becomes too warm. We like to set the temp in our homes to an “uncomfortable” cool at the beginning, so that by the end we are feeling great.
CHOOSE LOW IMPACT.
Low impact does not mean low intensity – however, it’s likely you’ll be doing a lot less jumping around than the lower intensity classes such as pilates, barre, and sculpt. These workouts deliver a serious burn, without producing a serious sweat.
PROPER ATTIRE.
Your athletic wear is everything, and if you haven’t checked out Under Armour’s Iso-Chill… it’s a MUST. Iso-Chill eliminates heat, so you can work out longer and harder without overheating. The fabric is made from specially designed fibers that lay flat against your skin to evenly disperse heat. It literally feels cool to the touch! They also added titanium dioxide to absorb UVs quickly and move that heat away from your body. So whether you’re working out in the heat for a serious cardio burn, or trying to preserve your blowout at the gym – Under Armour’s Iso-Chill line has your back, so you can get the most out of your workout and stay cool!
