Description: Riding to the beat of the music (lots of hip hop, throwback and some pop). SJ choreography is fun and challenging (without being overly complicated). We recommend using 3 lb weights or above for the arm segment with SJ.
Sweat Level: 10/10 – It’s SoulCycle, no escaping this sweat!
Tone Level: 7/10 – Definitely more cardio than toning. But you can really engage your core throughout … and pick up those heavier weights.
Cult Level: 7/10 – SJ def has a loyal following. But those who ride with her tend to not be obsessive or exclusive. From what we’ve seen, riders go to her class because they want a feel good workout. SJ is super welcoming and her class is a judgement free zone!
Sneakers/Props: Spin shoes + water (bring your own or rent).
Shower/Locker Situation: Digi lockers, changing rooms, showers and great products.
Vibe: SJ is straight up COOL – and not like she’s trying to be … she just is. She’s very open and accepting and creates a safe space for her riders. She really owns who she is and helps you do the same.

Extras: Stay after the stretch, she tends to drop a lot of wisdom during this time. She also teaches a mat based strength training class using just your body weight called ‘Body By SJ’.
