POSTPARTUM FITNESS + BODY IMAGE. I was gonna story this but think it deserves a POST.

It’s been just over 6 weeks since giving birth and I’ve been cleared to workout again. I’ve never taken this long of a break since starting SATC!

Upon returning, i have such a *fresh* approach to fitness. My intention is not to return to how I was pre-baby. We’ve moved passed that body! Instead, I’m focusing on getting comfortable and confident in my current body - which has allowed me to step into my favorite life chapter so far. 👶🏼🤱🏼

Pregnancy and postpartum has surprisingly been amazing for me in my body image journey. I’ve felt more relaxed and less concerned about what I look like, because regardless of it being the most change I’ve ever gone through - it seems so much of a smaller deal in the grand scheme of things. The perspective shift is real - it’s caused me to fixate a lot less and it’s been quite liberating. Not to mention, who am I to talk sht about a woman who quite literally grew a human from scratch!

It doesn’t mean I don’t have my moments. Trying to find an outfit from my closet the few times I’ve gotten dressed up that fit / felt good was a challenge. But, it was a great excuse to go shopping and I figure even if I hadn’t gone through changes, i always look for new clothes anyway 😂

So if you’re returning back to fitness, whether it’s postpartum, from an injury or whatever - remember that our bodies have been changing since day 1! In our 30s, we don’t have the same body as in our 20s, and in our 20s we have evolved from our high school bodies. Sending love to whoever is going through changes - I’m personally excited to approach my life in a new way🙏❤️

Healing from this surgery this past week has been

Healing from this surgery this past week has been no joke physically or mentally. I swear by these little rituals that bring me back down to earth when I’m feeling anything but grounded. And they’re especially important while I can’t work out. Making the bed, meditating, nourishing my body, journaling ... if I want to feel good I certainly know the recipe (it’s just a matter of executing 😉). As always, our @sakaralife code is SWEATS.

thank you all for the sweet messages & check ins — i feel so loved 🥹🤍 my surgery went well and i’ll be at home recovering for the next little bit.. i’ve anxiously anticipated this (pacemaker replacement) surgery for the last 10 years and i’m truly just so grateful to have it behind me🙏🏻Q+A coming up on the story soon!
