Class + Studio: Outdoor Pop Up @ Bar Method NoHo
Location: NYC (Tribeca)
Length: 45 mins.
Description: This class takes BM’s traditional barre class to an outdoor setting. It’s a combination of low impact exercises that pack a full body burn. Class starts with a quick warmup (that must be done, even if you arrive late), followed by arms/pushups, thighs, glutes, more pushups and an ab finisher. They replicated the barre by setting up by poles and attaching ropes for resistance.
Sweat Level: 4/10 – Very light sweat, because it’s currently cool outside and very low impact.
Intensity: 7/10 – Definitely a challenge.
Tone Level: 7/10 – All muscles – big and small – will activate!
Cult Level: 8/10 – Bar Method is known to have a very loyal following. The instructors know most of their clients and learn everyone’s name off the bat. Expect them to call you out by name during class to make adjustments.
Sneakers/Props: Bring your own mat, water, towel (optional) and light weights (optional). Wear your mask. Some people took their masks off when they got to their mats.
Shower/Locker Situation: N/A
Vibe: Incredible! The setting overlooks the water and has such a great vibe. It’s 100% worth it to go just for this (and doesn’t hurt that it’s a great clas!) – You’ll leave feeling refreshed and energized.

Extras: It’s on ClassPass! However, spots on ClassPass are limited, so check their website if you don’t see CP openings and make sure to sign up in advance. Keep in mind: Bar Method is a franchise, so this is the “Noho” studio, @barmethodnoho. Not all Bar Methods are doing this. It’s located at Pier 25 next to the Volleyball courts. Go a little early! They will email you if class is cancelled due to weather.
Go Back? YES! This is a must try before it’s too cold! Dare we say we even enjoyed it more than in-studio!
