Class + Studio: Abs Arms Ass @ New York Pilates

Location: NYC (SoHo, Bowery, West Village), Hamptons (Montauk, Southampton)

Length: 50 mins.

Description: Classic pilates reformer class focused specifically on the core, arms & booty. The class is slower paced than burnout, and has a lot of repeated pulsing, as well as lengthening moves on the reformer. Good class for beginners.

Sweat Level: 2/10 – Very limited sweating.

Tone Level: 5/10 – Extremely dependent on teacher (can range from a 4 – 8). We personally love Javi and Xander.

Cult Level: 7/10 – Definitely not the best studio to make friends, but you won’t feel like an outcast if new. Tons of NYP membership regulars here, as it’s pricey on ClassPass. 

Sneakers/Props: Barefoot or grip socks. We often bring a sweatshirt for the warmup as it’s kept a little cool in here.

Shower/Locker Situation: No showers, no lockers, just cubbies.

Vibe: Aesthetically, one of the best pilates studios vibes we’ve seen. You’ll feel chic just being here!

Extras: On CP (peak times are extremely high, expect 22+ credits). Very instructor dependent studio.
