Class + Studio: Upper Body + Abs BOOTCAMP @ AARMY
Location: NYC (NoHo)
Length: 50 mins.
Description: Bootcamp style mat workout focusing on the upper body + core. You’ll do plyometric and strength based exercises using different sets of weights. Also incorporates some cardio bursts (ie burpees, mountain climbers, etc.). Transitions are incredibly quick. Very solid stretch at beginning and end.
Sweat Level: 8/10 – Prepare to sweat, even with limited cardio in this class. Room was warm.
Tone Level: 9/10 – Your muscles will FIRE UP – both with your medium & heavy weights. Akin gives an advanced option with each move, which really amps up the tone & intensity levels. Only attempt if you have perfect form or are a regular.
Cult Level: 11/10 – CULT CITY… Akin has one of the strongest followings + many left Soul for AARMY. If you’re a one-off person, we recommend avoiding the ‘front row.’
Sneakers/Props: Sneakers, water.
Shower/Locker Situation: No showers at this temporary location. Just lockers (not digi locks). Mints, too!
Vibe: Very intense vibe. People take themselves and the workout incredibly seriously here. If you’re looking for something chill and/or some ‘me’ time, this may not be the workout for you.

Extras: Not on ClassPass, sign ups for the week are on Mondays at 11 (you can pay double to book in advance). Avoid his advanced recommendations for moves unless your form is perfect in every way.
