SoulCycle Outdoors

Class + Studio: SoulCycle Outdoors

Location: Santa Monica (LA)

Other Cities: NYC, Los Angeles (Century City), Atlanta, Boston, DC, South Beach, Roslyn, Hoboken (NJ), Newport Beach, La Jolla, Pasadena, Palo Alto, San Jose, Walnut Creek, Marin, Rye Brook

Length: 45 mins

Description: Choreographed spinning to the beat of the music! SoulOutside is a similar class style and each instructor will provide a slightly different experience. Usually an arm segment when you’re 75% through class (with weights) and finishing off with more riding.

Intensity: 6/10 – Definitely depends on how you want to push yourself, but generally very doable.

Sweat Level: 7.5/10 – Indoor SoulCycle generally offers at least a 9/10 sweat, but being outdoors (and assuming it’s not boiling outside) it’s a lot cooler.

Tone Level: 5/10 – Definitely more cardio than toning and because we didn’t use weights in this particular class, very little tone. Engage your abs, though!

Cult Level: 9/10 Soul is incredibly high cult and those who are doing it outside generally are very part of the cult, but it depends on the instructor.

Sneakers/Props: Bring your spin shoes or rent. They may not have water either, so bring your own!

Shower/Locker Situation: No showers, no lockers, no amenities.

Vibe: A very different vibe than the indoor studio: less about pushing yourself to the max in a dark, sweaty room and more about embracing the current circumstances and giving yourself a new space to escape. Focused more on mental health than ever. The Santa Monica location has seriously incredible vibes, overlooking the ocean – highly recommended.

Similar to: CycleBar

Extras: Not on ClassPass. Classes are a bit cheaper than in studio! Go early. This location is located at 3st Promenade Mall on the 3rd floor (not at the original location).

Go Back? Would go back with a friend as an activity!

Covid-19 Safety Measures

General Safety Measures: Temperature taken and virtual check in.

Mask Requirements: Masks are currently required while riding, as per California law. They weren’t originally.

Capacity: 40 bikes (spaced out 6 feet apart).

Restrictions: Bathrooms are available at the mall.

Other: They clean all the equipment before and after.
