Class + Studio: CORE CAMP @ Creative Core
Location: NYC (Chelsea)
Length: 50 mins.
Description: A classical pilates reformer class with a strong focus on form and a megaformer pace. Incorporates the reformer, chair, pull up bar and springboard. This is a full body burnout with a strong focus on core. It moves very quickly, with limited time for transitions (each move is counted down) & form perfection is key!
Sweat Level: 5/10 – More than your average reformer class, but still not a hair washing class.
Tone Level: 8.5/10 – A solid 9 for your abs, though! It was intensely toning.
Cult Level: 6/10 – There is definitely a loyal group of class regulars here, but with only 4 people per class, it’s hard to feel much of a cult vibe.
Sneakers/Props: Must wear grip socks.
Shower/Locker Situation: 1 shower + products! Complimentary water and tea.
Vibe: Bootcamp style pilates vibe. The space is within a residential complex and it definitely has an intimate vibe – very no frills, but people come for the solid burnout. The extremely small class size (just 4 machines) makes it feel like a private session, so you get a TON of attention.
Similar to: Bodyrok, ‘Advanced Pilates’ at BK Pilates, ‘Wundabar Workout’ at Wundabar.
Extras: On ClassPass (#10AndUnder). The class is quite advanced, so we wouldn’t recommend it for beginners. The owner’s very cute dog hangs out at the studio – definitely a bonus. This is a good class if you like a LOT of hands on assistance. Definitely good value credit-wise!
