Class + Studio: Barre @ Exhale
Location: NYC (Gramercy, Central Park South, Flatiron, UES), New Jersey, Miami, LA, Hamptons, Dallas, Connecticut, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Bermuda
Length: 60 mins (but sometimes offer a 45 min express).
Description: Traditional barre, with low impact sculpting. Use of light weights, bands, mat + ball. Begins with warmup (cardio/push ups/triceps), then arms, thighs, short push up/tricep series, glutes, abs, then stretch.
Sweat level: 5/10 – Low impact/small moves = not too sweaty of a situation
Tone level: 8/10 – Always forget how hard this class is (especially mid thigh series!) The little green ball of hell will make those thighs burn. Modifications offered if needed.
Cult level: 5/10 – Many ClassPassers.
Sneakers/props: Grip socks are required.
Shower/locker situation: Showers, lockers, the works. Flatiron = most showers (+ can use mens if no men in class!) Gramercy = in spa, so less showers/ have to share.
Vibe: Great place for all levels + beginners. Welcoming to all! Lacks a bit of the community vibe from class-goers. All different ages/levels here. Music could be improved!
Extras: On ClassPass. You have to rush after you put weights away to claim barre spot. Pro tip: claim barre spot with mat and then go wait in line to put weights away.
Go back? Used to be our GO-TO spot. No particular reason why we don’t go as much anymore (prob because so many options now / don’t live as close!) Will go back soon.
